Lupe Tortilla is a standout when it comes to Tex-Mex dining, and their food truly delivers. They have both indoor, bar and outdoor seating. Right from the start, their salsa sets the tone. Fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor, it's the perfect balance of heat and tang, making it an irresistible companion to their crispy tortilla chips. It's the kind of salsa that has you reaching for chip after chip. If you're in the mood for a drink, their Mexican Martini is a must-try. It's strong but smooth, with a refreshing citrus kick that complements the rest of the meal perfectly. It's one of those cocktails that feels like a treat, especially if you enjoy a classic margarita with a bit of extra flair. On the food front, the Patron Plate is a feast. Loaded with rich, savory flavors, every bite is a celebration of classic Mexican cuisine. The portions are generous, and the variety of flavors on the plate makes it a great choice for someone looking to sample a little of everything. But don't sleep on the seafood enchiladas! They are a revelation, with tender seafood wrapped in soft tortillas, all smothered in a rich, creamy sauce that feels decadent without being too heavy. It's one of the dishes that might surprise you with how well it's executed. The only downside is that Lupe Tortilla can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, which can lead to slower service. However, the staff is always friendly, making the wait more bearable. Despite the occasional delay, the quality of the food more than makes up for it, and the overall dining experience is consistently enjoyable.
I don't understand the low rating because food was so delicious! We walked in on a Friday night and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. I thought the wait was worth it. We ordered the hatch chicken chili enchilada and fajita quesadilla. I was very impressed by both dishes. The rice was flavorful and served with very soft beans. We ordered extra guacamole to pair with the enchiladas and it made the dish even more perfect. The enchiladas had a nice kick to them, not too spicy where you couldn't eat though. I loved my quesadillas! Definitely worth the upgrade to beef fajitas. They were so cheesy, even better when mixed with sour cream and guacamole. Service was decent. The waiter was nice. He tried his best to remember our requests but it was very busy so it was understandable that he was a bit forgetful. Definitely not upset about it. This place has a lot of seatings, super spacious inside. Fun place for a nice casual date.
Lupe tortilla is always a solid choice for Mexican food. We don't usually go on a weekday, so I felt it was worth a post. The lunch specials run until 4pm, and happy hour starts at 3pm. So if you can time it out right for a very late lunch or very early dinner, you can really maximize the specials and the deals! The large Ritas were only $10 on happy hour!
Definitely been a minutes since our last visit!! We were planning a lunch visit, but I seen they now offer brunch on the weekend...yes its been that long....we quickly changed our plans and with the GD in tow, we were off. Service was fantastic...Place is still looking the same inside, very clean as well...Almost positive this was there first location they opened in ATX....Breakfast menu is legit, with some great options. Of course Queso for breakfast is a must.....Wife went with the Chorizo tacos with potatoes only...tacos were huge, chorizo was great and not greasy....GD had the Praline Pancakes with some killer bacon...served rolled like enchiladas...they were light and fluffy and big....I went with the Barbacoa Benedict and it hit on a points for me. Overall a fantastic experience.
We called ahead to ask if there was a wait for the patio. We were told it was completely empty - score! We are immunocompromised and don't eat indoors. When we got there they had no one assigned to the patio but the nice manager brought us water, chips, and salsa while they figured out the server situation out. We had a nice server who took good care of us (in turn we took very good care of her tip) and we enjoyed the food. For 4 of us (1 small kid) 1.5lbs of beef brisket was more than enough. Their tortillas are special. Next time I'll buy extra to take home.
I was in town for business and meeting a friend for dinner. The food was great. However, we sat at the bar, and the service was less than I expected. The host staff made up for it by being flexible with seating arrangements. Overall still a solid place to go.
